University of Oxford - Pembroke College (2024/25) (Application HERE)

Pembroke College at the University of Oxford operates a vibrant, full-year Visiting Student programme with select universities. All visiting students studying at Pembroke for their Junior Year Abroad (JYA) can enjoy the full “Oxford” experience. Admitted students will spend one year studying at Pembroke College and are eligible for substantial scholarships. Applicants may refer to the available courses offered by the college. Student can can find more information about the structure of each on the university’s website.

Pembroke has been welcoming Visiting Students to the College since the early 1990s, in one of the longest-running programmes in Oxford. Visiting Students are accommodated on the main Pembroke site, not in remote or separate buildings and participate in the full range of sporting and social events in the College. Students will also receive the same academic experience, including tutorials, that has made the Oxford undergraduate education perhaps the most respected and renowned in the world.

Programme Expenses

Students must cover their airfares, tuition fees (university and college fees) and living costs at Oxford (2023/24 as reference).

Who Can Apply

Application is available to all full-time non-first, non-final year undergraduate students who:

    • Have already completed at least one year of study at the time of application; preference will be given to students who are currently in their second year of study and will go to Oxford in their third year (second year undergraduate level at Oxford).
    • Have good academic performance and maintain a high CGPA of 3.7 or above.
    • Have strong references and sample work relating to your chosen course.
    • Demonstrate excellent spoken and written English (please refer to Oxford's English language requirements).
Application Procedure
  1. Complete the online application (Application Deadline: 15 December 2023)
  2. Upload the supporting documents:
    • Application Form
    • Academic Records - HKU transcript OR print screen of all courses and latest CGPA as shown on HKU Portal. (Nominated students will need to submit an official HKU transcript at a later stage.)
    • Written work sample
    • Resumé
    • Copy of valid TOEFL/IELTS report 
Important Notes
    • Short-listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
    • Only short-listed applicants will be required to submit two reference letters in January 2024.
